The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Icee M B A, trained by Michael Hourigan, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal
The Stewards interviewed C.D. Maxwell, rider of I Can't Remember, concerning his use of the whip in this race having received a report, which included photographic evidence, from the IHRB Veterinary Officer. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who stated he used his whip before the turn in on five or six occasions and not at all in the home straight and was surprised at the Veterinary report. Furthermore, he presented his whip to the Stewards for inspection. Having viewed a recording of the race, the manner in which the whip was used and the good condition of the whip, the Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted on this occasion.
