Permission was given for Ancient Myth (IRE) and Wild Waves (IRE) to both wear a red hood to the start.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after two incidents of interference from approaching1 ½ furlongs out and again approaching the half furlong marker involving the winner Moon Over Miami (FR) ridden by Hector Crouch and HARPER’S FERRY, placed second, ridden by Rossa Ryan.
The Stewards had considered that the interference had not improved the placing of Moon Over Miami (FR) as despite HARPER’S FERRY being intimidated off its intended line on two separate occasions it had lost little momentum and was always being held by Moon Over Miami (FR) to be beaten ¾ of a length at the line.
Taking this into account the Stewards ordered the placings to remain unaltered.
The interference was found to be accidental in that on both occasions Crouch had taken reasonable steps to correct his mount who was hanging markedly right-handed.
Following the race, Rossa Ryan reported that HARPER’S FERRY, placed second, suffered interference inside the final 1 ½ furlongs.
