The winner Melburnian (GB) appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Yarmouth on 22 July 2020 where the gelding finished tenth of twelve, beaten by 28 ¾ lengths.
Jane Chapple-Hyam’s explanation that Melburnian (GB) had benefitted from recently receiving treatment for stomach ulcers, was noted.
The performance of Arctic Victory (IRE), which started favourite and finished unplaced, was considered.
Ben Curtis reported that the filly ran too free and George Boughey explained that Arctic Victory (IRE), was unsuited by the Polytrack surface on this occasion and, in his opinion, would be better suited to a return to turf.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the filly, during routine testing, failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Following the race, Callum Shepherd reported that the saddle slipped on King Of Spies (USA), placed fourth.
Ray Dawson reported that Win Smartly (IRE), unplaced, was never travelling and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities.
