Having been examined by the doctor and Veterinary Surgeon at the start, both the rider and colt were deemed fit to race.
An enquiry was held following a report from Daniel Tudhope, the rider of Summerghand (IRE), unplaced, that the left-hand side of the back gate of his stall was open when the race was started.
The Stewards reviewed a video recording of the start and heard evidence from the Starters and Tudhope.
They noted the Starters’ explanation that the left-hand side of the rear gate had popped open after the ‘all-clear’ had been given and just before the race was started and took no further action.
Following the race, Jim Crowley reported that Sergeant Pep (IRE), unplaced, reared as the stalls opened and was slowly away as a result, Daniel Tudhope reported that Summerghand (IRE), unplaced, was slowly away and Amie Waugh reported that Be Proud (IRE), unplaced, suffered interference leaving the stalls.
The Veterinary Officer reported that Rhythm N Hooves (GB), unplaced, lost its left-fore shoe.
