Rounding the first bend, a free-running Sky Power (IRE), unplaced, hung left-handed causing Napper Tandy (GB), unplaced, to be checked in order to avoid its heels, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
An enquiry was held to consider interference entering the home straight involving Kasperenko (GB), unplaced, ridden by Oisin McSweeney and Sir Chauvelin (GB), placed third, ridden by Paul Mulrennan.
McSweeney was suspended for 4 days for improper riding as he manoeuvred his mount right-handed making contact with Sir Chauvelin (GB) and forcing that gelding wider off its intended line, when it should have been obvious to him that interference would occur.
Callum Shepherd, the rider of the winner, King Of The South (IRE), was suspended for 2 days for using his whip above the permitted level from just inside the final furlong.
Following the race, Rob Hornby reported that Sky Power (IRE), unplaced, ran too free.
