The Veterinary Officer reported that upon inspection, White Lady (IRE) was grey and not bay as published in the racecard.
The winner, Port Noir (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Chepstow on 30 August 2021 where the filly finished eleventh of thirteen, beaten by 9¼ lengths.
It was noted that Robert Stephens could offer no explanation for Port Noir (GB)’s improved form, other than the filly appeared to appreciate returning to the All-Weather surface at Wolverhampton, where she is a multiple winner.
Port Noir (GB) was routine tested.
Annie Rose (GB), drawn 7, anticipated the start and accelerated the gate at the same moment as the race had been started.
Being satisfied that it was not caused through a faulty action of the starting stalls, no further action was taken.
Leaving the stalls, Annie Rose (GB), placed fourth, jumped awkwardly and shifted left-handed, crowding White Lady (IRE), placed sixth, onto The Blue Bower (IRE), placed eighth, which was hampered as a result, but after viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Annie Rose (GB).
Inside the final furlong, Sky Blue Thinking (GB), placed second, lugged slightly left-handed, causing Dacesa (IRE), placed seventh, to be hampered when disappointed for a clear run, but after viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Sky Blue Thinking (GB).
An enquiry was held to consider interference inside the final furlong when Dacesa (IRE), placed seventh, ridden by Cam Hardie, interfered with Lady Alavesa (GB), placed fifth, ridden by Shane Kelly.
Hardie was cautioned for careless riding as having been disappointed for a clear run, he had then switched sharply right-handed when insufficiently clear of Lady Alavesa (GB), carrying that mare off its intended line.
