An enquiry was held following a report from the Veterinary Officer that the representative of Ivan Furtado had presented the incorrect horse at the racecourse stables for identification in place of Vive Audacter (GB), which was declared to run in the 2.
45pm race.
The Veterinary Officer, an Equine Welfare and Integrity Officer, the trainer and the trainer’s representative were interviewed.
Having heard their evidence, the Stewards referred the matter to the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority, and ordered that Vive Audacter (GB) be withdrawn.
Morning Fury (GB), placed fourth, hung badly right-handed rounding the final bend taking Shymay (GB), placed third, off its intended line.
After viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Following the race, Liam Keniry reported that Now We're Touring (IRE), unplaced, was slowly away, and Josephine Gordon reported that Morning Fury (GB), placed fourth, hung badly right-handed throughout.
