Permission was given for Wise Glory (IRE) to wear a red hood to the start.
The raceday privilege request in relation to Wise Glory (IRE), trained by Grace Harris, which was to wear a red hood to the start, was late being submitted.
Harris was warned as to her responsibility to ensure that all raceday privilege requests are submitted by 1pm on the day before racing.
Silvestre De Sousa, the rider of Beautiful Crown (GB), which finished thirteenth of twenty runners, beaten by 19¾ lengths, was asked to explain his riding from a furlong out where he appeared to prematurely ease the gelding.
The Stewards interviewed De Sousa and viewed recordings of the race.
De Sousa explained that Beautiful Crown (GB) ran too free from a wide draw and had no more to give inside the final furlong.
He further added that the gelding had become unbalanced in the closing stages and he therefore felt it prudent to hold Beautiful Crown (GB) together and finish its race.
His explanation was noted.
Approximately 3 furlongs out, Beautiful Crown (GB), unplaced, shifted right causing knock-on interference to Sweet Reward (IRE), placed sixth, Country Pyle (GB), placed fourth, Roscioli (GB), unplaced and Frontispiece (GB), placed second, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Following the race, William Buick reported that Danville (GB), unplaced, hung badly right and William Cox reported that Carp Kid (IRE), placed third, hung right in the home straight.
David Probert reported that Roscioli (GB), unplaced, lost its action; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities.
