The Stewards requested a report from George Kent, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Shanooan (USA), placed second, as compared with its recent form. The trainer reported that his charge disappointed on handicap debut in a competitive race in Naas. He added that today's better ground helped his charge return to form. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanation offered. The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Just Gorgeous, trained by A.P.O'Brien, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal. J.P. O'Brien, rider of Just Gorgeous, trained by A.P.O'Brien, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount never travelled.
An extended handicap for three yrs old only (85 = 9st 10lb) Weights - Top weight in the original handicap shall not; be less than 9st 10lb Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 5lb extra for each race won Any horse rated above 85 shall initially be treated as having that rating and the highest weight allotted shall be 9st 10lb. Subsequently, the excess over 85 in any rating shall be added to the weight allotted to that horse.
