Rubi Lights up Punchestown
he was only half fit when winning at Sligo on his latest run and still wasn't fully wound up today. Davy (Russell) said he was only getting going when he was pulling him up. He may be better over further but he can't go down the novice route as he won over fences in France before we bought him. He'll probably run next at Leopardstown over Christmas in either a handicap or Listed chase.
L'Ami is King of the Castle
he can go down the hunter chase route now and there is also a banks race for him back here in February too.
Magnanimity scores for Hughes/Russell
Magnanimity really needs three miles and did well to win over two and a half today. He goes on heavy ground and is a nice long distance novice chasing prospect. The ground was a little too quick for him the last day and he'll go for a three mile novice chase at Leopardstown over Christmas next.
Elliott's Beautiful training performance
Silas Mariner makes all for Punchestown win
that was fun and I had a mild heart-attack on the run-in!. he loves heavy ground and I can't think of any three year old that could beat him in the mud - maybe St Nicholas Abbey could!. Although he front-runs, he is quite idle and only picks up when others come to him. You never know how much he has left because of that! He'll make a very nice horse next year
Molloy steers Shamiran to Punchestown win
Shamiran was second in the Amateur Derby behind Admiral Barry, which was an excellent run, but disappointed in the Cesarewitch on ground that was too fast for him. He loves heavy ground and is a big, strong type. We'll see what the handicapper does with him now but he may have one run before possibly going for a big handicap over Christmas, hopefully off a low weight!
Zaidpour impresses at Punchestown
he showed me today what he had been telling me at home!. I would not be afraid to drop him back in trip as he has plenty of gears. We've plenty of time with him but he may run in the Royal Bond Hurdle at Fairyhouse on November 28 next.
Carey slips rivals through Exit door
I'm delighted with that as it is my first bumper winner!. he ran with the 'choke out' on his debut and and I told Sonny to ride him whatever way he was happiest. He gave him a great ride and the horse is now for sale - he jumps great.
