If you're not in you can't win! Really beforehand I was settling for the third prize-money. In fairness though his jumping has picked up a good bit.

It looks like he wants a trip (first time to try three miles over fences). His jumping can be in and out, although he was a bit better today with the small field which gave him plenty of space. Phillip said that he met the last four spot on.

Barry said he got a bit hampered at the second last. He's a fair tool and will go to Cheltenham next month for a Novice Hurdle over 2m 5f. He needs a trip because he is not a 2m horse.

Tactics are important. It wasn't Robbie's (McNamara) fault when he got beat in Punchestown as the race just worked out that way (finished a nearest at the finish third there). We rode him prominent last time and we were going to do the same again but Mikey said he was going to drop in. He'll have a couple of weeks off now and probably go hurdling then. He'll be better on better ground too.
