Sabrina Harty's Silas Mariner made all for a brave win in the Punchestown Christmas Market 3YO Hurdle at Punchestown today, scoring a three parts of a length win over Accidental Outlaw
The son of Indian Danehill battled well when strongly pressed in the straight by both Accidental Outlaw and Days Ahead but found plenty on the run-in for a tough staying win.
Afterwards a delighted Harty stated "that was fun and I had a mild heart-attack on the run-in!"
She added "he loves heavy ground and I can't think of any three year old that could beat him in the mud - maybe St Nicholas Abbey could!"
"Although he front-runs, he is quite idle and only picks up when others come to him. You never know how much he has left because of that! He'll make a very nice horse next year"
