An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race following interference from jumping the final fence when the winner, Killer Kane (IRE), ridden by Brendan Powell, interfered with Flic Ou Voyou (FR), placed second, ridden by Bryony Frost.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Killer Kane (IRE)’s placing as the gelding was ahead of and always holding Flic Ou Voyou (FR), and the ground lost as a result of the interference was less than the extending 1 ¼ lengths at the line.
Powell was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he failed to take sufficient corrective action to prevent his mount from drifting left-handed and carrying Flic Ou Voyou (FR) off its intended line.
