Approximately one furlong out Hummdinger (FR), placed fourth, ducked quickly left-handed away from the whip before being corrected taking Fayetta (GB), placed fifth, off its intended line and onto the heels of Earl Of Harrow (GB), causing the rider to have to take a precautionary check.
After viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved and it had not improved the placing of Hummdinger (FR).
Following the race, Tom Marquand reported that Oliver Hardy (GB), placed second, hung right-handed under pressure.
