An enquiry was held to consider interference shortly after the start when Daphne May (GB), unplaced, ridden by Tom Queally interfered with No Such Luck (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Rhys Clutterbuck, Curtiz (GB), unplaced, ridden by Tom Marquand and Dotties Star (GB), placed fifth, ridden by Paddy Bradley.
Dougie Costello, the rider of Robert Walpole (GB), unplaced, was interviewed and was found to not be involved in the incident.
Queally was suspended for 5 days for careless riding as he maneuvered right-handed causing Clutterbuck to take back and be moved off his intended line, in turn crowding Marquand badly with him becoming short of room and further bumping Dotties Star (GB) which had its quarters turned.
The winner Storm Valley (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Southwell on 14 March 2024 where the filly finished seventh of eight runners, beaten 9 ½ lengths.
Matt Crawley’s explanation that the filly appreciated a return to turf and a slower surface on this occasion, was noted.
Storm Valley (GB) was routine tested.
Following the race, Gina Mangan reported that Temur Khan (GB), unplaced, never travelled.
