An enquiry was held into the circumstances surrounding the start of this race where PLUNGER, which had been withdrawn, was loose behind the stalls as the start was effected. The Starters were interviewed and a video recording of the start was shown. The Stewards noted their explanations that they had observed ENZEMBLE (IRE), in stall 2, was becoming fractious and had a history of being unruly in the stalls. They considered that it was preferable to start the race rather than wait for PLUNGER to be caught, especially as the gelding had proved difficult to hold, having got loose several times before. As PLUNGER was corralled behind the Stalls by Stalls Handlers, they felt that the gelding was secure.

An enquiry was held to consider interference inside the final furlong when the winner, SALUTE THE SOLDIER (GER), ridden by Adam Kirby interfered with GUVENOR'S CHOICE (IRE), placed second, ridden by Clifford Lee. Kirby was cautioned for careless riding as he allowed his mount to drift right-handed without timely correction causing Lee to be shifted marginally off his intended line.

The Starter reported that PLUNGER refused to enter stalls. Paul Cole was informed that the gelding could not run until the day after passing a stalls test.
