Permission was given for Lady Melody (IRE) to be led to post early, Permission was also given for La Chica Lobo (GB) to go early to post and be mounted in the chute.
Upon leaving the stalls, SHE’S EASYONTHEEYE (IRE), placed eighth, jumped left-handed hampering Bezzas Lad (IRE), unplaced, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of SHE’S EASYONTHEEYE (IRE).
An enquiry was held to consider interference leaving the back straight involving FEEL FOOD FACTOR, placed sixth, ridden by Luke Morris, La Chica Lobo (GB), placed seventh, ridden by Cam Hardie, Microscopic (IRE), placed fifth, ridden by Clifford Lee and SHE’S EASYONTHEEYE (IRE), placed eighth, ridden by Jason Hart.
Hart was suspended for 6 days for careless riding as he had allowed his mount to edge left-handed towards the rail when insufficiently clear of a free-running Microscopic (IRE) causing that runner to be crowded for some distance and carried onto both La Chica Lobo (GB) which after being tightened up for several strides was then checked and also Feel Good Factor (GB) which had to be severely checked against the rail and lost considerable ground as a result.
The performance of Bezzas Lad (IRE) which started favourite and finished unplaced, was considered.
Alistair Rawlinson’s explanation that the gelding was restless in the stalls was noted; the Veterinary Officer reported that the gelding was found to have blood in his mouth, possibly from having hit its head in the stalls.
Bezzas Lad (IRE) was routine tested.
Following the race, Shane Gray reported that Lady Melody (IRE), unplaced, hung both ways.
