The Stewards enquired into an incident in the closing stages involving Cadeau Du Bresil (FR), ridden by Ms N. Carberry, Third Estate, ridden by Mr L.J. McGuinness, and Jaime Sommers, ridden by Mr C.M. Healy, where it appeared Cadeau Du Bresnil (FR) and Third Estate suffered interference. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion Mr C.M. Healy was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly, and having taken his record into account, they suspended him for 2 racedays. The Stewards interviewed Mr C.M. Healy, rider of Jaime Sommers, placed second, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion Mr C.M. Healy was in breach of Regulation 10 3 (f) and Regulation 10 4, in that he had used his whip with excessive frequency and without giving his mount time to respond, and having taken his record into account, they suspended him for 6 racedays. Mr P.W. Mullins, rider of Poppets Prince, trained by S.J. Treacy, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount ran very green early, attempted to jump the running rail past the winning post with a circuit to go, and was eventually pulled up.
