Permission was given for Wotsmyname (IRE) to wear a hood in the parade ring only and to be mounted on the course.
The Stewards considered an incident on the final bend when Alan Doyle the rider of Maura Jeanne (GB) was unseated.
Doyle reported that he had clipped the heels of Big Arthur (GB), pulled up, which caused Maura Jeanne (GB) to stumble and unseat him.
After viewing video recordings, It was found that the incident was accidental and the Stewards took no further action.
Approaching the third last hurdle Jet Legs (IRE), placed third, clipped the heels of Big Arthur (GB), unplaced, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
The performance of Wotsmyname (IRE), which was unplaced, was considered.
It was noted Leonard Kerr could offer no explanation for the gelding’s poor performance.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding during routine testing failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Following the race, Bruce Lynn reported that Blazing Port (IRE), placed fourth, was hampered by the faller at the last hurdle; Sean Quinlan reported that Jet Legs (IRE), placed third, was hampered by the faller on the final bend, clipped heels with Big Arthur (GB), approaching the third last hurdle and was hampered by the faller after the last flight; The Veterinary Officer reported that Soleil De Cannes (FR), unplaced, was lame on its right hind leg after the race.
