The Stewards interviewed R. Walsh, rider of Bless The Wings, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that R. Walsh was in breach of R10(4) by failing to give his mount time to respond to the whip and consequently suspended him for 1 raceday having taken his previous record into consideration. The Stewards interviewed G.N. Fox, rider of Rogue Angel, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that G.N. Fox was in breach of R10(4) by failing to give his mount time to respond to the whip and consequently suspended him for 1 raceday having taken his previous record into consideration. Andrew Lynch, trainer of Jarob (GB), reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his charge burst a blood vessel during this race.
An extended handicap steeplechase for five yrs old and upwards Penalties - Winner of a steeplechase or steeplechases after calculation of the handicap shall carry any penalty or penalties which may be allotted by the Handicapper. The Stewards of the I.N.H.S. Committee have suspended the relevant sections of Rules 194 and 195 for the purpose of this race. The following procedures will apply for reserves.
