The Stewards interviewed Harry Skelton, rider of Value At Risk (GB), concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that H. Skelton was in breach of R10(4) by failing to give his mount time to respond to the whip and consequently cautioned him. Alan Fleming, trainer of Gwencily Berbas (FR), reported to the Stewards that his charge was distressed post race The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Gwencily Berbas (FR), trained by Alan Fleming, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be blowing hard post race. D.N. Russell, rider of Taglietelle (GB) trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount never travelled during this race.
