The Raceday Stewards interviewed D. Moloney, rider of Tomas O Maille, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. D. Moloney accepted he was in breach of Regulation 10 and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards found D. Moloney in breach of R.10.3(g)(frequency) and considering his record in this regard they suspended him for six racedays
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer reported to the Raceday Stewards that Casey West trained by P.J. Rothwell was seen to have blood at both nostrils post race
The Raceday Stewards enquired from D. Moloney, rider of Tomas O Maille, in relation to the fact where his whip appeared to connect with the head of Quarry Rocco when attempting to strike his mount. D. Moloney stated that as he was attempting to strike his mount the horse beside him manoeuvered close to his mount and the whip connected with its head. He added that he was mid strike when Quarry Rocco manoevered close to him and he stopped using his whip until there was room again to do so. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards noted the riders explanation and were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
