Permission was given for Glory of Paris (IRE), Balata Bay (GB), Followthesteps (IRE) and Logi (IRE) to go early to post.
Permission was also given for Plunger (GB) to be mounted in the chute.
The sponsorship in relation to Mount Wellington (IRE), trained by Stuart Williams, did not comply with the Sponsorship Code of Conduct.

Approaching 3 furlongs out, a weakening Balata Bay (GB), unplaced, edged slightly left-handed, tightening up Logi (IRE), unplaced, against the rail, causing him to be checked which resulted in the winner, Critical Thinking (IRE) being steadied and switched right-handed to avoid heels which hampered Plunger (GB), placed sixth, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Following the race, Rob Hornby reported that Mount Wellington (IRE), placed third, was denied a clear run approaching 1 furlong out, Luke Morris reported that Glory of Paris (IRE), placed fourth, ran too freely and Ben Curtis reported that Kupa River (IRE), placed seventh, also ran too freely.
