we’ve had a brilliant day and I’m delighted for the Blue Blood syndicate who have her leased off Mags Mullins, who owns her. Myself and James Fenton, the main man in Blue Blood, got her leased and she was very lazy but on that ground, that is an advantage. There’s more to come from her and we might look for a winners’ bumper with her next and she’ll jump a fence in time. She’s only four and can go hurdling next season. W P Mullins, trainer

The Stewards received a report from Ms. Joan Taylor, Turf Club Veterinary Officer, that the vaccinations of Crackerdancer, trained by Ray Hackett were not in order as required. Having considered the report, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Crackerdancer and fined the trainer ?350 under the provisions of Rule 90 (iv). The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Krisdenoel, ridden by Mr E. Walsh, and trained by John J. Walsh. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned. Mr E. Walsh, stated that his instructions were to settle his mount in third position throughout and to do the best he could, bearing in mind that his mount had not raced for some time. He said his mount pulled very hard early on and ran very green throughout. He added that he had to switch his mount in the closing stages as the gap was closed and his mount ran on from there to the line. John J. Walsh, confirmed the instructions given and expressed his satisfaction with the ride bearing in mind the riders inexperience. He felt the rider could have finished closer if more experienced, but was satisfied his charge had achieved a best possible placing. He further added that his charge was a big green type, that had one run prior to today and had ran very poor on that occasion and was turned out for sometime thereafter in order to mature. The Stewards also received a report from the Turf Club Veterinary Officer, who stated that Krisdenoel was found to be coughing posted race. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the explanation offered and took no further action.
