He's a very important horse because he is the lead horse at home, he leads out all our young horses and gave Connor Bowman, who led him up today, his first winner at Ballingarry (point-to-point, in May). The plan had been to go back point-to-pointing but he's after winning now so we'll keep him for the track. Cian Michael Collins, trainer
C. Stone-Walsh, rider of Wee Jerry, trained by Ian Patrick Donoghue, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount struck into itself. The animal was subsequently examined by an Irish Horseracing Veterinary officer and was found to be lame post race
The Raceday Stewards interviewed S. Fitzgerald, rider of Desert Heather, trained by Rodger Sweeney, concerning the fact that he appeared to ease his mount close to the line which may have cost him fifth place. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that his mount had not run in a long time, got extremely tired and had no more to give close to the line. Having viewed the recording and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards accepted the explanation given and were satisfied that no further action was warranted
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Desert Heather, trained by Rodger Sweeney, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal
GENERAL INFORMATION The following Raceday Stewards acted on behalf of the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board at this race meeting: Mr. David McCorkell (Chairman), Mr. Thomas Breen, Mr. David Aiken, Mr. P. Deegan
