Permission was given for Global Agreement (GB) to wear a red hood to the start and for Moonlight Glory (IRE) to go early to post.
An enquiry was held into the running and riding of Jimmy Rabbitte (IRE), ridden by Sam Coltherd and trained by Stuart Coltherd which was held up before making headway to race prominently throughout the final circuit before appearing to be tenderly ridden after the final hurdle to finish seventh beaten 16 ¾ lengths.
The Stewards interviewed Sam Coltherd and viewed recordings of the race.
Coltherd explained his instructions were to take his time and switch the gelding off, as he tended to race keenly.
Coltherd explained that on the final circuit Jimmy Rabbitte (IRE) travelled too well and carried him into a handy position, where the gelding continued to travel strongly until making a mistake at the second last hurdle.
He further added that he felt Jimmy Rabbitte (IRE) was weakening entering the home straight, and wanting to get home safely, he rode hands and heels after the gelding stumbled jumping the final hurdle, to obtain in his opinion the best possible placing.
His explanation was noted.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Burrows Hall (FR), which was pulled up, had bled from the nose.
Jonathan Bewley reported that Hungry Tiger (IRE), which was pulled up, was never travelling.
