The Veterinary Officer reported that Putting Green (GB), trained by Neil Mulholland, appeared to show evidence of possible administration of a substance around its mouth.
The trainer’s representatives, the Veterinary Officer and an Equine Welfare and Integrity Officer were interviewed.
As the Stewards could not be satisfied that Putting Green (GB) had received only normal food and water by mouth on the day of the race, they withdrew the gelding and referred the matter to the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority.
