Mrs Pauline Gavin, trainer of The Lady Granuaile (USA), reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that her charge made a respiratory noise in running The Stewards requested a report from Lorcan Joseph Donnelly, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Old Theatre Royal, placed first, as compared with its recent form. The trainer reported that his charge disappointed on his last start in Cork when missing the break and getting hampered by a faller in running. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanations offered.
