The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages, involving Benign Dictator, ridden by Mr. B
Lawless, placed fourth and How Will I Know, ridden by Mr. D. Kiely placed second, where it appeared that both horses made contact. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Mr. B. Lawless stated that his mount received a slight bump and was of the opinion that the incident had not cost him a better finishing position. Mr. D. Kiely stated that his mount hung slightly to his right when laying down his challenge and put this down to the animals inexperience. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judge's placings and took no further action
The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving Ernest Gray, ridden by Mr. B
O'Neill, placed first, How Will I Know, ridden by Mr. D. Kiely, placed second and Mythical Hero, ridden by Mr
P.W. Mullins, placed third, where it appeared that interference had occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Mr. P.W. Mullins stated that the racing line in front of him closed, but felt he was not travelling well enough to hold his position at the time and was also of the view that it had not affected his over all finishing position. Mr. B. O'Neill stated that his mount ran very green in the closing stages and despite his best efforts, his mount hung slightly right. Mr. D. Kiely was of the opinion that his mount kept a straight line at this point in the race. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judge's placings and took no further action.
