The Raceday Stewards interviewed G.F. Carroll, rider of Babich, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted he was in breach of the Whip Regulation and stated that one of the strikes was for corrective purposes. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that G.F. Carroll was in breach of R.10.3(g)(frequency) and having considered his clean record in this regard, they suspended him for two racedays
R.P. Whelan, rider of Sea Of Moyle, trained by Kieran P. Cotter, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount jumped the road
The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident close to the line involving Firebrand (GER), ridden by J.A. Heffernan, placed first, and Babich, ridden by G.F. Carroll, placed second, where it appeared Firebrand rolled out slightly and Babich rolled in behind him. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
