It's great to be back. I'm doing OK in England and I'm loving it over there. Tom George and Fergal O'Brien are the two main yards I'm riding for. I was in France yesterday for Tom George. It's a lovely day to have a winner. He jumped well, but he got badly hampered down the back and I thought his chance had gone. He's a good ground horse so he'll probably have a break now. An extended handicap steeplechase for four yrs old and upwards rated 0-116
Penalties - Winner of a steeplechase after calculation of the handicap to carry 4lb extra for each such steeplechase won.
Riders - The Rules and Instructions relating to the Overnight Nomination of shall not apply in this instance. The top 12 horses declared in race card order will be allocated riders from the selected British based and Irish based teams by lot. Trainers of any remaining horses in this race should declare a rider of their choice. The draw for riders will take place at 10.30 a.m. on Sunday 13th October with the toss of a coin to determine which team draws odd and even numbers. Individual riders will then be drawn by ballot. Points will be scored by the first eight placed horses on a scale of 15-12-10-8-7-6-5-4, if the horse is eligible to score points, and the team that accumulates the highest number of points will be deemed the winner. In the event of there being less than 12 horses declared or a non runner the equivalent rider in the opposing team eg. Nos. 1 & 2, Nos. 3 & 4 etc., will not be eligible to score points. The Stewards of the I.N.H.S. Committee have suspended Rule 155 for the purpose of this race. in the challenge will wear the registered colours with each country's team wearing a distinguishing cap in their national colours.
