LUDO’S LANDING (IRE) wore earplugs which were removed at the start.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference approximately one furlong out, involving LUDO’S LANDING (IRE), placed third, ridden by Joe Fanning, Dembe (GB), placed fourth, ridden by Callum Shepherd and Skilled Warrior (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Sam James.
Skilled Warrior (IRE)’s placing was not considered as it was comfortably beaten by 5 lengths.
The Stewards considered that the interference had improved LUDO’S LANDING (IRE)’s placing in relation to Dembe (GB) as, in lugging left-handed, it interfered with Skilled Warrior (IRE) and carried it left-handed towards Dembe (GB) leaving it short of room and eased for a number of strides, causing the gelding to lose both momentum and distance, before running on strongly to be beaten a diminishing head at the line.
The Stewards ordered the placings to be revised as follows: First: Tribal Wisdom (IRE); Second: Sense Of Worth (IRE); Third: Dembe (GB); Fourth: Ludo's Landing (IRE).
The interference was found to be accidental as LUDO’S LANDING (IRE) lugged persistently left-handed, despite Fanning’s best efforts to prevent it from doing so.
Following the race, Joe Fanning reported that LUDO’S LANDING (IRE), placed fourth, hung left-handed and Rossa Ryan reported that Great Blasket (IRE), placed fifth, hung left-handed throughout.
