An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the final furlong marker involving Obtuse (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Adam Kirby, SUSUCARA, placed third, ridden by Kieran Shoemark and Cider Apple (GB), placed second, ridden by Oisin Murphy.
After viewing a recording of the incident and hearing the evidence of the riders, the Stewards accepted Kirby’s explanation that the gap between SUSUCARA and Cider Apple (GB) had closed before he was in it and he was therefore denied a clear run.
Following the race, Luke Morris reported that Gordonstoun (IRE), unplaced, was denied a clear run.
