Permission was given for Saffron Beach (IRE) to wear a hood in the Parade Ring, and for Alcohol Free (IRE) and Primo Bacio (IRE) to wear red hoods to the start.
Queen Power (IRE) wore earplugs which were removed at the start.
An enquiry was held to consider two possible incidents of interference approaching the final furlong involving Champers Elysees (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Ben Coen, LAVENDER’S BLUE (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Jim Crowley, Queen Power (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Silvestre De Sousa, Primo Bacio (IRE), placed fifth, ridden by Andrea Atzeni, Saffron Beach (IRE), unplaced, ridden by David Egan, and the winner, Snow Lantern (GB), ridden by Sean Levey.
In the first incident, which the Stewards considered to be accidental, LAVENDER’S BLUE (IRE) shifted slightly left-handed away from the whip before being corrected by Crowley, causing Queen Power (IRE) to be moved slightly off its intended line.
In the second incident, Levey was suspended for 6 days for careless riding for switching his mount right-handed to continue its run, causing Primo Bacio (IRE) to be carried onto Saffron Beach (IRE) which resulted in the rider of Champers Elysees (IRE) having to take a considerable check, and Queen Power (IRE) to be carried of its intended line.
Following the race, Ben Coen reported that Champers Elysees (IRE), unplaced, was denied a clear run, and the Veterinary Officer reported that Queen Power (IRE), unplaced, was lame on her left-fore leg.
