The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Zippy Rocket (GER), trained by Gavin Cromwell, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal. Samples were taken for further analysis
C. Horgan, rider of Poppadom, trained by Andrew Slattery, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got tight for room one furlong out. The Raceday Stewards reviewed the incident and were satisfied that no further action was warranted
J.A. Heffernan, rider of Share The Treasure, trained by T.Hogan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was slowly away
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident in the home straight involving Exceeding, ridden by P.A. Harnett, unplaced, and Basilah Bear, ridden by L.T. McAteer, unplaced, where it appeared Exceeding struck the rail
Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. P. A Harnett stated that he was riding his mount for luck, took a chance down the rail and his mount was less than genuine. He further stated that the rail was not straight and this coupled with the horses on the outside moving inwards had contributed to him running short of room. L.T McAteer stated that he kept a straight line and was surprised that Exceeding tried to fill a gap that he was never in. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found P.A. Harnett, in breach of Rule 214 (careless riding) in that he had contributed to his mount striking the rail. Having considered his record in this regard (first offence), the Raceday Stewards suspended him for two racedays
R.P. Whelan, rider of Bucaneer's Spirit, trained by Jack W. Davison, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount lugged left under pressure.
