Permission was given for Notre Belle Bete (GB) to wear a red hood to post.
The Veterinary Officer reported that an employee of Jack Channon, the trainer of Certain Lad (GB), had administered the electrolyte ‘SUPERLYTE’ on the day of the race.
The representative of the trainer, an Equine Welfare Integrity Officer and the Veterinary Officer were interviewed.
As the Stewards could not be satisfied that Certain Lad (GB) had received only normal food and water by mouth on the day prior to the race, they withdrew the gelding and ordered it to be routine tested.
They further confiscated the substance, ordered that it should be tested, and referred the matter to the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority.
