Davison, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be blowing hard post race
The Stewards requested a report from Ross O'Sullivan, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Kourvoisier, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Ross O'Sullivan stated that his charge's previous run at Galway was it's first run in a handicap but was only it's third start. Furthermore, he stated that the horse was badly impeded leaving the stalls and got a bad fright and never handled the track thereafter. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanation given.
An extended handicap for three years old and upwards rated 50-85 Weights - Top weight in the original handicap and after the time of declaration shall not be less than 10st 2lbs and the minimum weight is 8st 6lbs Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 6lb extra for each race won.
