Kuwait Direction wins Dundalk's opener
Sam Ewing rode him in the claimer the other day and thought stepping up to seven might suit him but we already had him declared for this so we said there was nothing to lose, that we'd be positive and see how he gets on. His mark was blown after finishing tenth in the Coventry last year, when only beaten a few lengths, and if he couldn't win a maiden he was never going to win a handicap. He just needed to find his level. He'll have options over five, six and maybe even seven. We'll keep him busy. He only cost £8,000 and we were actually told that we'd never keep him sound. We got a small job done on him when we got him back and touch wood he hasn't had a lame day.

Champion Apprentice returns Eglish to winning ways
she wasn't winning out of turn and loves this place. She has a new bunch of lads involved with her, in Shamrock Thoroughbreds, and it's great for them as it's her first win for them. On form she should have run a big race and it's great that she won. We'll campaign away up here and see what happens and she should go in again. The handicapper wasn't easy on her earlier in the year but when you win three times in an all-weather season he's not going to be too kind to you. We ran her on soft ground a few times but she needs top of the ground. She's a real all-weather fast ground filly.

Champion Apprentice hits 51 winners with treble
I'm delighted with her - things haven't been falling right for her of late, with ground and positions. Being drawn wide here today wasn't ideal, we jumped out and sat a bit wide early on but ended up getting a lovely position the whole way around. John (Feane) was keen on her, he likes her, she's a nice moving filly and it's for good owners as well. She stayed at it well, stuck her nose out, and will be a nice filly going forward. it's been a great night to ride a treble for three great supporters in John, Ado (McGuinness) and obviously my boss Donnacha (O'Brien) - I'm absolutely over the moon. The season has been going great and I've had great support. To reach 50 winners is a great milestone and that was the plan coming into the week. I'm absolutely delighted.
