The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Drombeg Duke, trained by Augustine Leahy, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be lame behind when examined post race
The Stewards interviewed B.M. Coen, rider of Major Power, concerning the fact that he appeared to move across before reaching the marker poles. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered evidence from the rider, the Stewards found B. M. Coen in breach of Rule 211 and having considered B. M. Coen's record in this regard they suspended him for one raceday.
