The Stewards interviewed R. Coakley, rider of Koybig, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were satisfied that R. Coakley was in breach of Regulation 10.3.g, excessive frequency

McNamara's record in this regard and pursuant to the provisions of Regulation 10.6.a the Stewards suspended E. J. McNamara for six racedays
The Stewards requested a report from Gavin Cromwell, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Howyoulikethat, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Gavin Cromwell stated that his charge was slowly away over seven furlongs last time out and the return to a mile and jumping much better from the gates had helped to bring about the apparent improvement in form. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanation
