Inside the final furlong, CAPTAIN RYAN, placed third, shifted right handed interfering with CHICAGO SCHOOL (IRE), unplaced, which in tum interfered with ITSUPFORGRABSNOW (IRE), unplaced, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of CAPTAIN RYAN.
The winner, STORM LIGHTNING, appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Brighton on 18 October 2018 where the gelding finished tenth of fourteen beaten 7 ½ lengths. Mark Brisbourne's explanation that STORM LIGHTNING benefited from the drop in class on this occasion and a return to the all-weather, was noted.
