Permission was given for The Thunderer (IRE) to be mounted on the chute and for Eleanor Cross (GB) and Siempre Arturo (GB) to wear a red hood to post.
An enquiry was held to consider interference shortly after the start when the winner, God Of Thunder (IRE), ridden by Alec Voikhansky, interfered with Lexington Knight (IRE), placed third, ridden by Paddy Bradley, and Masqool (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Jack Doughty.
Being a 7lb claimer, Doughty was accompanied by a senior rider.
Voikhansky was suspended for 3 days for careless riding as he allowed his mount to drift left-handed across the track when insufficiently clear carrying Bradley off his intended line onto Doughty causing both to take a check.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the final bend when Furzig (GB), unplaced, ridden by William Carver, interfered with Heathen (GB), unplaced, ridden by Mark Winn, and Suffrajet (IRE), unplaced, ridden by William Pyle.
Carver was suspended for 3 days for careless riding as he allowed his mount to shift left-handed when insufficiently clear causing both Winn and Pyle to take a check.
Following the race, Mark Winn reported that Heathen (GB), unplaced, was denied a clear run approaching the final bend.
Race 2 - 2:05pm.
THE BETUK ALL-WEATHER VASE MIDDLE DISTANCE HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 3) AL RUFAA (FR) wore earplugs throughout the race and was given permission to go early to post.
Permission was also given for LIGHT SPEED (IRE) and INSPIRITUS (IRE) to wear a red hood to post.
Following the race, Sean Levey reported that QAASID (IRE), unplaced, hung left-handed on the bend and Dylan Cunha reported that ASGARD'S CAPTAIN (IRE), unplaced, did not handle the hill on his occasion.
