An enquiry was held to consider interference just inside the 2 furlong marker when the winner, Miller Spirit (IRE), ridden by Tom Queally, interfered with Flash Bardot (GB), placed second, ridden by David Probert.
Queally was suspended for 4 days for improper riding as he had manoeuvred right-handed when it ought to have been obvious that in doing so interference would take place, causing Flash Bardot (GB) to be carried off its intended line.
Following the race, the representative of Richard Hannon reported that Great Bedwyn (GB), unplaced, was unsuited by the Going, which was officially described as Heavy, Soft in places on this occasion, and would prefer a faster surface.
The Veterinary Officer reported that Calvert (GB), unplaced, lost its right-fore shoe.
