The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Tinandali, ridden by C.D. Hayes, and trained by D. K. Weld

Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned. C.D. Hayes, stated that his instructions were to sit in second or third position, and to get his mount to stay on as best he could. C.D. Hayes stated that his mount got worked up on the way to the start and also down at the stalls. In running, Tinandali never got into a good rhythm and when he tried to push on before the straight, the horse did not respond as he expected and he felt that there might be something wrong with him. In the opinion of C.D. Hayes it was best not to push on any further for the welfare of the horse. D. K. Weld, confirmed the instructions given to C.D. Hayes, adding that he was disappointed with the performance of his charge who ran too freely and was lugging left throughout. In addition, he felt that the fast ground may have been against his charge. The Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer who stated that Tinandali was post race normal. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the explanations offered.
