The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident on the bend approaching the third last hurdle involving Ninth Titan, ridden by D.E. Mullins, placed second, and Tounsivator (FR), ridden by P. Townend, placed first, where it appeared there was contact between the two. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. P. Townend stated that a gap appeared on the rail and as he quickened into it his mount slips. He further added he felt he would have had enough room but for his mount slipping. D.E. Mullins stated that the bend was riding tight and his mount took it wide and when he moved back in he was surprised there was a horse on his inside. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards did not apportion blame to any rider and took no further action
P. Townend, rider of Tounsivator (FR), trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that a gap appeared and when he went to fill it his mount slipped on the bend.
