Having reviewed the start, the Stewards were satisfied that Lord Riddiford (IRE) had put its head down at the same time as the start was effected, unbalancing and in turn unseating Jason Hart.
Lord Riddiford (IRE) was therefore deemed to be a runner.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference inside the final furlong involving Rovaniemi (IRE), placed second, ridden by Luke Morris, the winner Tone The Barone (GB), ridden by Callum Rodriguez, Leodis Dream (IRE), placed third, ridden by Richard Kingscote, and Nigel Nott (GB), unplaced, ridden by Tom Marquand.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Rovaniemi (IRE)’s placing as Leodis Dream (IRE) always appeared to be held to be beaten by ½ length at the line.
Morris was suspended for 6 days for careless riding as he allowed his horse to drift left- handed under a right-handed drive, initially causing Marquand to take a significant check.
He further allowed the colt to continue to drift left-handed without correction, carrying Leodis Dream (IRE) off its intended line for a considerable period; eventually tightening Leodis Dream (IRE) onto Tone The Barone (GB), resulting in Kingscote having to take a significant check and the hindquarters of Tone The Barone (GB) to be turned.
