The winner, Percussion (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Southwell on 21 March 2022 where the gelding finished fourth of six, beaten by 25 lengths.
L J Morgan's explanation that Percussion (GB) had benefitted from the application of first time tongue tie and cheekpieces, and also a step back in trip to 2 miles 4 furlongs after racing over 3 miles on its previous run, was noted.
Following the race, Will Kennedy reported that Discko Des Plages (FR), which finished sixth of six finishers, stopped quickly; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities.
