The Stewards enquired into an incident in the closing stages involving Califante (GB), ridden by Katherine S. O'Brien, placed third and Lean And Keen, ridden by D.P. McDonogh, placed fifth, where it appeared Lean And Keen received interference in running. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied from the evidence offered that there were mitigating circumstances and took no further action. The Stewards interviewed D.P. McDonogh, rider of Lean And Keen, concerning the fact that he appeared to move across before reaching the marker poles. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered evidence from the rider, the Stewards were satisfied that D.P. McDonogh was in breach of Rule 211 by failing to keep a straight line until he had passed the marker poles and consequently severely cautioned him having taken his previous record into consideration. The Stewards interviewed C.P. Hoban, rider of Alvar (USA), concerning the fact that he appeared to move across before reaching the marker poles. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered evidence from the rider, the Stewards were satisfied that C.P. Hoban was in breach of Rule 211 by failing to keep a straight line until he had passed the marker poles and consequently severely cautioned him having taken his previous record into consideration. The Stewards informed Tracey Collins, trainer, that Beat The Ballot would have to be recertified before being declared to run from stalls again. The Stewards interviewed W.M. Lordan, rider of Dancing Cosmos, concerning his use of the whip in latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were satisfied that W.M. Lordan was in breach of R10(3)(a) by hitting his mount in front of the saddle while the whip was held in the forehand position and consequently suspended W.M. Lordan for 1 raceday. The Stewards informed Gerard Keane, trainer, that The Black Devil would have to be recertified before being declared to run from stalls again.
