Permission was given for Tothenines (IRE), to wear a red hood to post.

The raceday privilege request in relation to Tothenines (IRE), trained by Karl Burke, was late being submitted.

Burke was warned as to his responsibility to ensure that all raceday privilege requests are submitted by 1pm on the day before racing.

An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the final 1 ½ furlongs involving Mattice (GB), unplaced, ridden by Brandon Wilkie, Tothenines (IRE), placed second ridden by Clifford Lee, RUSSELLINTHE BUSHES (IRE), unplaced, ridden by John Egan and True Jem (FR), unplaced ridden by Pierre-Louis Jamin.

Being a 7lb claiming apprentice, Wilkie was offered the opportunity to be accompanied in the enquiry but declined.

After reviewing the footage and hearing evidence from all of the riders including David Allan, rider of The Dunkirk Lads (GB), unplaced, Clifford Lee was suspended for 7 days for careless riding as, although the Stewards accepted that Mattice (GB) had edged slightly left for one hit, with its rider then putting his hand back on the reins, Lee had made a misjudgement in continuing to ride into a gap which never looked big enough causing Egan to take a considerable check losing ground and momentum, and in turn interfering with Jamin’s mount which received a significant bump with its hind quarters being turned.
