S. Foley, rider of Lobo Rojo (GB) trained by Mrs John Harrington, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount did not come down the hill at all well

The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Tuned For Power, ridden by J.A. Heffernan, and trained by Joseph G. Murphy. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned. J.A. Heffernan, stated that his instructions were to ride his mount as he found it and to achieve his best possible finishing position. He felt that his mount ran on his nerves a little throughout the race and if he had not done so it may have finished out his race better. He also stated that his mount carried his head slightly to the right and may be better suited by going left handed. Joseph G. Murphy, confirmed the instructions given and stated that he was satisfied with the ride and added that his charge may still be a bit weak. The Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer who stated that Tuned for Power was post race normal. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the explanations given

Ms. Kate Harrington, authorised representative for Mrs John Harrington, trainer of Lobo Rojo (GB), reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that her charge banged his head in the starting stalls prior to the race starting. The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officier examined Lobo Rojo at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to have blood at both nostrils

For three years old colts and geldings only, maidens at starting that are EBF eligible and that at entry HAVE NOT RUN MORE THAN TWICE
